About Eric Pohlman

Eric Pohlman serves as the Chief Executive Officer of One Acre Fund, a social enterprise headquartered in East Africa that equips smallholder farmers with the tools, knowledge, and innovations they need to prosper, this season and the next. As a co-founder of the organization, Eric launched One Acre Fund’s Rwanda program in 2007, starting as its first field officer.  Over nearly two decades, Eric has designed and led large-scale and impactful programs for smallholders, earning the World Food Prize’s Norman Borlaug Award for Field Research and Application in 2015. Under his leadership, One Acre Fund’s Rwanda Program grew from serving 38 farmers to more than 1M farmers.  In 2024, he was appointed One Acre Fund’s global CEO.  Today, he steers One Acre Fund’s strategy toward its 2030 vision of delivering $1 billion in impact to 10 million farming households and planting 1 billion trees.  Prior to One Acre Fund,  Eric served as an agroforestry field agent for Peace Corps in Cameroon and he studied foreign service at Georgetown in Washington DC, and University Cheik Anti Diop in Dakar.
